We do not, of course, propose to follow this stipulation to the letter, but would rather work out an arrangement on the line proposed by you. The Controller will also see that payments between us and the Telegraph Cos. are duly made. The salary of the Controller will be

paid by us.

You informed us that you would have the above transmitted to your Minister in Peking. When you do so we wish to request you to ask him to have the matter settled as quickly as possible so that normal conditions could be restored without any further unnecessary delay.

Thanking you for all the trouble you are taking on our account and for the cordial assistance you showed us.

We beg to remain,

Sir, Yours faithfully,

(Sd.) Lo Sak Tean,

Representative,

Kwangtung Telegraph Administration
